The Original Intent Of This Blog

April 2006 - It seems vain to create a blog about me however, I realize that it is the most efficient way to provide accurate information about the status of my treatment and recovery so here I go .....

May 2009 - The cancer has returned, here I go again ...

December 2009 - I've finished chemo and am cancer free; I continue to receive Herceptin and the trial drug.

Day #2

April gave a good summary of the chemo day and the rough start of Day #1 following chemo. With the help of new anti nausea drugs, Day #1 ended good.

Day #2 has begun well; the headache is gone and I have no nausea. I am taking all of my medications to be safe.

This morning I was reading the book of Habakkuk. Habakkuk was a prophet to the Southern Kingdom of Judah. The book ends with a statement of faith by Habakkuk, "Though the fig tree should not blossom, And there be no fruit on the vines, Through the yield of the olive should fail, And the fields produce no food, Through the flock should be cut off from the fold, And there be no cattle in the stall, Yet I will exult in the Lord, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength, And He has made my feet like hinds' feet, And makes me walk on my high places."

No matter how tough life was, Habakkuk kept his faith in the Lord. And that's our job, to keep our faith in the Lord no matter how tough our life may be.

In the book of Romans Paul wrote, "For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor death, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

God is with my family and I during this time of trouble - our job is to not doubt nor let our faith waiver. "God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." Ro.8:28

Hello Jan:

I have posted your name and address on the "Brethren on Line" list briefly relating your battle with cancer. You should be receiving some commuication from from sisters in Christ from all over the U.S who have survived cancer. I have already received 2 emails from such and one from a preacher in Florida. Jan, we have a big family and there are going to be a lot more prayers going out to God on your behalf. "The fervent effectualy prayer of a righteous man avails much..." I believe that.

Margie and I continue to remember you in our daily prayers. You are such an encouragement to us. Thank you for that.
