The Original Intent Of This Blog

April 2006 - It seems vain to create a blog about me however, I realize that it is the most efficient way to provide accurate information about the status of my treatment and recovery so here I go .....

May 2009 - The cancer has returned, here I go again ...

December 2009 - I've finished chemo and am cancer free; I continue to receive Herceptin and the trial drug.

Round Two: Post Chemo 2.10

I have good news for this report. First of all I have returned to work four hours a day, Monday through Friday. And secondly, I'm still cancer free as of tests on February 1st.

The CT scan indicates no change in the size of the tumors in the liver - the tumors still look like cysts and furthermore, the CT scan does not show new tumors.

The circulating tumor markers have dropped to zero; the CEA remains at zero; and the CA 15-3 remains at 27 which is well within the normal range. I think it is great that the circulating tumor markers have dropped several weeks after the last chemo - it seems to me to be an indication that the biologic drugs are doing their job.

Echo and EKG results are good and indicate no damage to the heart muscle.

I know that I am blessed and I pray that I don't take this blessing for granted.
